Gym corollary

Today I was at the gym (yes, I even lift bro... sometimes). I saw a personal trainer standing next to a guy on an elliptical trainer. No, I didn't try to figure out the equation of the ellipse that the pedals made. Instead I considered the fact that the guy on the elliptical was paying the trainer to just stand there. Make conversation, sure. And essentially paying money to a guy to do very little. It is kind of like when I show up at a student's house and they haven't yet attempted the homework. The student doesn't yet know what they don't know. Yes, I can add value by explaining EVERYTHING, and the time would be better spent specifically targeting the areas that aren't well understood.
