Math. It's how to know if you got correct change

Non tutoring facts: I have two children. My son is 24 and my daughter is 18. Both are turning into wonderful adults!
We have 3 cats, who are very cute. Sometimes they'll show up on camera for tutoring.
I've always been gifted in Math. I learned in High School Geometry Class that I was also pretty good at explaining concepts to my
fellow students. The next year, I started my tutoring career as a Junior in High School.

I kept tutoring off and on through my days at UCSB, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences. After UCSB, I attended the University of South Carolina where I was a Teaching Assistant in Calculus and worked in the tutorial center.

When I left South Carolina and returned to California, I started tutoring full time. I worked in the Moorpark College tutorial center as Senior Tutor where I both helped students with their work and taught other tutors how to teach, instead of giving answers.

Outside of Moorpark College, I helped individual students in their homes improve their Math and Science skills. After a couple of years of being a fulltime tutor, I decided to get a "real" job, as my parents called it. I applied to Microsoft and was hired.

After working at Microsoft for a couple of years, I started volunteering at Interlake High School in their math department, where I helped out for sixteen years.

I am now in my post-Microsoft job, which requires less time, so I have more tutoring bandwidth. I've helped hundreds of students over the past 30 years and will probably help a couple hundred more in the next 20 years.
